How the Ridgway Area PTO Supports Ridgway Middle/High School

Growing our support beyond elementary school.

Over the past year, the Ridgway Area PTO has been working to expand our support for students, teachers, and staff at the Middle/High School.

We know the needs of older students and their teachers are different from those at the elementary level. Rather than simply recreating our FSG programs, we want to work with Middle/High School families, teachers, staff, and students to identify where PTO support can make the greatest impact.

NEW: Middle/High School PTO Subcommittee

Help us build what comes next.

We have created a Middle/High School PTO Subcommittee dedicated specifically to supporting the needs, programs, activities, and opportunities of students in Grades 6-12.

And we need your help.

We're looking for parents, guardians, teachers, and staff who are interested in helping us grow PTO involvement at the Middle/High School level.

You don't need to take on a huge commitment. Whether you can help with one project, share ideas, improve communication, connect us with other families, or take a more active role on the committee, there's a place for you.

Teachers & Staff - We Want to Partner With You

You know your students' needs best.

We're looking for Middle/High School teachers and staff members who would be willing to serve as PTO partners and points of connection.

We'd especially love help with:

  • Sharing school and student needs with the PTO

  • Identifying opportunities where PTO support could make an impact

  • Improving communication between PTO and Middle/High School families

  • Helping us understand existing programs, traditions, clubs, activities, and fundraisers

  • Sharing PTO opportunities and information with students and families

  • Helping us determine where volunteer or financial support is most useful

What Could PTO Support Look Like?

  • Teacher & Classroom Support
Supplies, wish lists, special projects, and resources.

  • Student Activities & Experiences
Programs, enrichment, celebrations, activities, and special opportunities.

  • Clubs & Organizations
Opportunities to support student-led groups and activities where appropriate.

  • Teacher & Staff Appreciation
Expanding some of the appreciation efforts we already provide.

  • Events & Volunteers
Helping connect families and community volunteers with school needs.

  • Communication & Community Partnerships
Helping connect the school with families, businesses, organizations, and other community resources.

Have an idea? Tell us.
This program is still growing, and we want the Middle/High School community to help shape it.
