We have a busy couple of weeks ahead for PTO! Here’s what’s happening, what’s coming up, and a few ways you can get involved.
Fifth Grade Chicken BBQ - THIS SUNDAY!
Our Fifth Grade Chicken BBQ is Sunday, September 20, in partnership with The Summit Lodge & Grill!
This is Fifth Grade’s featured Class Fund fundraiser, with proceeds going directly back to the Fifth Grade Class Fund to help support activities, celebrations, field trips, enrichment, and memorable experiences throughout their final year at FSG.
Fifth Grade families - this is an ALL HANDS ON DECK week!
A few important reminders:
Ticket stubs, money AND any unsold tickets are due Thursday, September 17.
Preorders are also due by September 17.
We still need volunteers for Sunday. Please check BAND and sign up for a shift.
We are looking for individually packaged baked goods for our Bake Sale.
Parents, grandparents, family members AND our Fifth Graders are welcome to help!
The BBQ begins at 11:00 AM Sunday and continues until sold out.
Meal Pickup: Ridgway Chamber of Commerce Parking Lot - Downtown Ridgway
Please remember, meal pickup is NOT at The Summit Lodge & Grill.
Meals are $13 and include 1/2 BBQ chicken, baked beans, macaroni salad and a roll.
This is our Fifth Graders’ fundraiser, and we really need our Fifth Grade families to help us make it a success!
Coin Wars Are Underway!
Coin Wars kicked off September 14 and run through October 16!
Keep sending in those coins and get ready for a little friendly competition. The fun continues through October, with our Coin Wars Celebration on Friday, October 23.
We’ll continue sharing reminders and updates as Coin Wars continues!
Thank You for a Great First PTO Meeting!
We held our first PTO meeting of the school year last week, and we truly appreciate everyone who came, shared ideas, asked questions and gave us feedback.
One of our biggest goals this year is making it easier for families to be involved with PTO without feeling like you have to attend every meeting or take on a huge commitment.
We talked about our new Grade-Level Class Funds, fundraising plans, teacher and student support, improving communication, growing our Middle/High School involvement, and ways to give more people an opportunity to get involved.
If you couldn’t make the meeting, that’s okay! We’ll continue sharing meeting recaps so everyone has a way to stay informed and be part of what we’re working on.

PTO will be joining the Ridgway Alumni Association for their Homecoming Tailgate on Friday, September 25!
We’re excited to be part of the Homecoming festivities and spend some time with our school families, alumni, students, and community. Stop by and see us before the game!

PTO Committees Are Getting Organized!
We’re working on getting our PTO committees organized again, and we’ve created subgroups within BAND so committee members have a place to communicate, share ideas and work together between meetings.

Our Fundraising Committee is a great example of what can happen when like-minded people get together with the same mission and start putting ideas into action. We’d love to build that same momentum with our other committees! You can participate as little or as much as you’d like. Maybe you have one great idea. Maybe you can help with one project. Maybe you’d like to jump in and help lead something. It all counts. If you’re interested in joining one or more committees, let us know and we’ll get you added to the appropriate BAND subgroup.
